Rain Backup for Outdoor Louisiana Weddings

Planning Guides / Rain backup

Louisiana weather is unpredictable — especially in spring and summer. If you're planning an outdoor plantation wedding near Baton Rouge, the question isn't if you need a rain plan, but whether your venue has one that actually works.

Chatsworth's built-in rain backup

Every wedding at Chatsworth includes a rain contingency at no additional venue charge. If weather turns, we move your ceremony into the Cristella Veranda — a climate-controlled indoor space that seats up to 160 guests.

Our typical approach: a few rows of chairs for immediate family during the ceremony, while remaining guests are already seated at reception tables. That means less time flipping the room and more time celebrating — one of the reasons couples choose an estate that hosts ceremony and reception in one flow.

What we do the morning of

Connie and the on-site team monitor forecasts closely. When rain is likely, we prepare structures and indoor setup early — our couples have had full outdoor ceremonies succeed because the team planned for both outcomes.

Before you book any outdoor venue in Louisiana, ask: Where exactly does the ceremony move? Is there a fee? How many guests fit indoors? At Chatsworth, the answer is clear — Cristella Veranda, included, with a team that lives on the property.
